Welcome Letter
August 19, 2010
Dear Room 16 Parents/ Guardians,
Welcome to Room 16 and the 2010-2011 school year! I am very excited to have your student in my class. I look forward to positive and productive fourth grade experience.
First, here’s a little bit about me. I graduated from San Jose State University with my B.A. in Theatre Arts. I also received my teaching credential from San Jose State University while working as an intern for a school in Santa Clara. Last year, I was a long-term substitute for Dilworth in a fourth grade classroom. This is my first year teaching at Dilworth.
Working together is key to the success of your student. The teacher, parent/ guardian, and student must work together. I look forward to getting to know your child to help him or her strive to succeed. In addition to getting to know your child, I am also looking forward to getting to know you and working together to create a successful school year. My overall goal is to help your student build responsibility and reach their goals.
There are important documents that need to be returned to school in this manila folder. Please look carefully at all documents, update and return them to class by Friday, August 27, 2010.
Some Up Coming Events:
• Picnic on the Lawn will occur on Thursday, August 26, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This is a time to meet other families from our class in a casual environment.
